Zorica Mršević (born October 7, 1954) is a Serbian professor, jurist, researcher and human rights activist. She is especially noted for her academic contribution and work in the field of human rights and feminism, at local but also international level. After graduating from the University of Belgrade, School of Law in 1977, she also received an LLM degree in Law in 1983, followed by a PhD degree in Law in 1986 from the University of Belgrade. Zorica Mrsevic is the author of more than 20 books and 300 studies and articles on ''gender equality, phenomenology of violence, human rights of marginalized groups'' and ''jurisprudence''. ==Career== In 1978 and 1979 she was professor at the Second Belgrade’s School of Economics, Belgrade, Serbia, teaching courses ''Constitutional Law'' and ''Economy Law''. In 1979 Zorica Mrsevic has joined the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research Belgrade, Serbia, progressing from assistant to higher researcher - managing the Institute’s projects, participating in the Institute’s managerial bodies. In 1992 Zorica joined Centre for Women’s Studies, Alternative studies University of Belgrade, School of Law, as a visiting professor in ''Course in Feminist Legal Theory''. In 1996 she was a visiting professor at the Law School, State University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA, teaching course ''Comparative Feminist Legal Theory''. In 1999 Zorica was appointed as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Science, Belgrade, Serbia.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Institut Drustvenih Nauka )〕 Also, in 2000 and 2001, she was a regional project manager at the OXFAM GB, Belgrade, Serbia, working as ''Regional Women’s Program Officer'' and managing regional and national women’s projects In 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 Zorica was ''Gender Advisor'' in OSCE Mission to Serbia, Belgrade. She was managing following projects: Establishing of local mechanisms for gender equality, Education for local gender equality mechanisms, Empowerment of women for, political participation, Drafting laws and other legal documents on gender equality and antidiscrimination, Providing expert support to national mechanisms for gender equality on provincial and republic level. In 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2005 she was visiting professor at the Central European University Budapest, Hungary, teaching ''Theory of Violence'' and ''Women’s Human Rights'' the very same topics that she was teaching in 2005 and 2006 at Rosa Mayreder College Vienna, Austria. Starting 2008 Zorica Mrsevic is also a professor at the Faculty for European Legal and Political Studies in Novi Sad, Serbia. During 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Zorica was ''Deputy Ombudsman''〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Заменици заштитника грађана )〕 in charge for gender equality and rights of people with disabilities, Ombudsman of Republic of Serbia Belgrade, Serbia where she was in charge for finalizing ombudsman’s response to citizens’ petitions in domain of gender equality, rights of LGBT persons, people with disabilities, elderly persons, patients, pensions’ and labour rights, Monitoring functioning of social institutions for elderly people and persons with disabilities. In 2010 Zorica was appointed as a ''Member of the Expert Counselling Board'' within ''State Commissioner for Equality'', Belgrade, Serbia and she is contributing with her expertize in Counselling activities regarding gender equality and rights of LGBT persons. In 2011 Zorica also joined Judiciary Academy Belgrade, Serbia as a visiting professor, teaching course of ''Multiple discrimination'' and ''Violence against women'' to judges, prosecutors and candidates for judiciary. In 2011 Zorica Mrsevic has become a member of Gender Equality Council to Government of Serbia and she is participating in counselling activities as well as a member of Observatory〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Članice Nezavisne Opservatorije za praćenje nasilja prema ženama - Mreža Žene protiv nasilja )〕 – independent body for monitoring violence against women where she has been working on researching on Media representation of violence against women.
